BAJFC Falcons u9s v Daventry Town Titans u9s
Falcons proudly sponsored by Wood2U started the 22/23 with a home fixture on a bright and sunny morning. Having moved up to 7aside we were missing a few players meaning the boys had a full 50mins of football to play, it was also the first time they had got together as a group since early July.
Titans started quickly scoring within the first minute. Falcons settled themselves down and started to play putting pressure onto Titans. Tomisin was running at the opposition we were just missing the final ball. Ben made a great save from a good Titans shot. Bailey was tackling well. Ed C and Tomisin swapped positions with Ed pushing up well Second half it seemed like it was all Falcons, Oli in goal for the first ten mins for the half didnt touch the ball. Some better team play and we were opening up Titans with some good last ditch defending stopping shots from Oli and Ben. Ed W was putting some good corners in. Lewis was a rock in defence keeping Titans out and playing the ball forward. Ben had a great chance which brought a brilliant save from the opposition any other game and he would have scored. Falcons were keeping up the pressure and then right at the end Titans hit the ball past our last man and ran on and put their second in the net against the run of play. A really unlucky end to a good match between two evenly matched teams. Man of the Match was Lewis for a great all round display balancing defensive solidarity whilst also pushing the team forward with his running and passing.
