Bilton Ajax Blaze v Hackleton Harriers
The first game of the new season started with a home fixture for the Blaze squad. Blaze welcomed two new members to the squad with Henry, Nanna and Carter making their debuts.
Blaze started the game well with some fantastic creative attacking play and moves, putting pressure on our opponents goal. On the 12 minute mark Kunashe found himself unmarked at the far post and latched onto a cross to put Blaze ahead with a lovely finish.
Carter put Blaze further ahead with a well deserved goal on the twenty minute mark, and Kunashe saw a wonderful goal bound header, come back off the bar following an excellent cross from Carter.
The second half was a more even contest with the Blaze squad tiring and our opponents able to bring on fresh legs they pulled a goal back with minutes remaining. However Blaze remained resolute and continued to push forward and create chances right to the final whistle.
A great start, with a number of players on hols. Well done lads.
